VHSL State Component 3rd Edition Online Course

VHSL State Component, Third Edition Online Course, contains VHSL-specific content addressing the coach’s role within the high school athletics program, the components associated with student-athlete eligibility, organization and structure of the VHSL, considerations for promoting a safe sport environment, the importance of sportsmanship, student-athlete mental health awareness, and emergency action planning.

The course is required of all VHSL coaches and is available free of charge. New VHSL coaches are required to take the course as part of their certification. Coaches who have taken a previous iteration of the VHSL state component course are encouraged to take this free, updated third edition as a refresher on the latest VHSL bylaws, policies, and procedures.

Audience

The VHSL State Component, Third Edition Online Course, is required training for all scholastic coaches in need of VHSL coach certification. The course should be taken in tandem with either Coaching Principles or the Basic VHSL Course to fulfill VHSL requirements.
