Courses
Our flagship certification courses—Coaching Principles and Sport First Aid—can be offered as classroom courses led by certified instructors using instructor ancillaries, or as online courses where each coach works through the course independently.
Other courses, including Coaching Orientation, Coaching Essentials, coaching youth sport, and a variety of sport-specific courses, are only offered as online courses. Most courses include a textbook, available as an ebook or print book. In addition to reading assignments, the online courses feature video clips, interactive exercises, audio clips, quizzes, and other activities that put the coach in real-life practice and game-day situations.
At the end of the course, coaches take a test online and upon passing they will receive a certificate of completion. They will also have the option to be listed in the National Coaches Registry.
Customize your program
If you qualify, we will work with your association, organization, or district to tailor a program specific to your needs. You select the courses that meet your organization's unique certification requirements and determine if your program might include a state- or locally-developed course supplement and test.
Verify your coaches’ certification
All coaches are encouraged to download their certificate at the completion of the course and submit it to their administrator for proof of certification. You may also qualify for access to look up coaches in our database and run reports for your organization to verify and document certification.
