National Rifle Association/USA Shooting/Civilian Markmanship Program

The National Rifle Association (NRA) has adopted Human Kinetics Coach Education courses as part of its requirements for becoming a Certified Coach.

The National Rifle Association requires Coaching Principles and recommends Sport First Aid.

From beginner to developing competitor, the NRA Training Department develops safe, ethical, responsible shooters through a network of over 50,000 instructors, 1,200 training counselors, and 2,000 coaches. NRA Training Counselors recruit and train instructors to teach NRA’s basic firearm courses to the general public. Coaches, in turn, develop competitive shooters at the club, high school, collegiate, and national levels.

The shooting coach program is a cooperative effort of the three major competitive shooting organizations in the United States: the NRA, USA Shooting (USAS), and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP).

The NRA is the governing body for many domestic shooting sports programs and administers the Coach Program. Contact the Shooting Coach Program at (703) 267-1401 or visit www.nrahq.org.

USA Shooting is the National Governing Body for the Olympic and international shooting sports in the United States. Find out more about USA Shooting online at www.usashooting.org.
