Cuesta College

Cuesta College is pleased to offer its online course Kinesiology 202 "Principles of Coaching" in conjunction with the Human Kinetics Coach Education online course "CIF Coaching Principles." Taught by Professor Brian Locher, the course is a transferable elective course for the Kinesiology major and also meets the requirement for the Cuesta Coaching Certificate.

To be a certified scholastic coach in California, you will need to complete a coaching principles course and a course on CIF bylaws. Principles of Coaching draws content from the 20-chapter ebook Successful Coaching that challenges coaches to define their coaching philosophy, objectives, and style; enhance communication and motivational skills; become more effective teachers and trainers; and improve team, relationship, risk, and self-management skills. The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) state component addresses CIF bylaws. The above is accepted by the CIF as meeting its coaching education requirement.

The Coaching Principles course/ebook and CIF testing material are sold together, so you'll only need to make one transaction. After completing the transaction, you will receive an email containing instructions on how to access the course materials.

You will access the Successful Coaching textbook as an ebook from within the Coaching Principles online course.  

After completing the courses, you can print certificates of course completion from the website to document your achievement.
