California Interscholastic Federation

Courses approved by the California Department of Education and the CIF as meeting the California coaching education requirements are CIF Coaching Principles, Fifth Edition Online Course and CIF Coaching Orientation, Second Edition Online Course. You may take either course to meet the requirement.

The CIF by-laws course is a separate course with a separate test, but it is sold bundled with the CIF Coaching Principles course and the CIF Coaching Orientation course. It is not sold separately.

The Sport First Aid course meets the California Department of Education requirements for first aid training for coaches.

Through a generous grant from the LA84 Foundation, coaches in the Los Angeles City Section and CIF Southern Section receive $20 off the price of the CIF Coaching Orientation course. See the respective organization pages for more details.
