Illinois Elementary School Association
The Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) has partnered with Human Kinetics Coach Education to offer IESA member schools and their coaches the IESA Coaching Education Program.
Approved by IESA, the IESA Coaching Essentials online course is designed specifically for coaches working with elementary, middle, and junior high school athletes.
Delivered conveniently online, the curriculum offers a solid foundation in coaching responsibilities, communication, safety, fitness, teaching and shaping skills, coaching on competition day, and season and practice planning. A separate IESA by-laws course (included in the course price) covers IESA-specific policies and points of emphasis.
The IESA Coaching Essentials course contains two tests; coaches need to pass both tests to achieve IESA certification:
- IESA Coaching Essentials
- The IESA by-laws
Please note that the IESA by-laws course is a separate test that is included in the purchase of the IESA Coaching Essentials course.
The average user will take about three hours to complete the course.
If you are an IESA coach looking to purchase the online course for yourself, click the course below.
If you are an athletic director or principal who would like to order IESA Coaching Essentials online courses in bulk to distribute to your coaches, contact Human Kinetics Coach Education at 800-747-5698 or Support@hkusa.com.
IESA also accepts the IHSA Coaching Education Program to meet the IESA coaching requirement. For more information on the IHSA requirements, click here.
Faculty-coaches may earn three (3) continuing professional development units (CPDU) for taking the course. Each faculty or coach should double check the CPDUs with their local ROE. Click here for a complete listing of Human Kinetics Coach Education online courses and their respective clock hours.
