Welcome Washington coaches!
The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) recognizes and accepts the Human Kinetics Coach Education course Coaching Principles as meeting one of the association's recently instituted coaching education requirements.
Coaching Principles is available as either an online course or a classroom course. Classroom courses are taught by certified instructors in a clinic setting usually on weekends. Many instructors have opted to deliver the classroom course in a blended delivery method, with a portion of the content taught in the classroom and the remainder of the content assigned as online self-study. This blended delivery method greatly reduces the amount of time coaches spend in the classroom and empowers instructors to tailor classroom instruction to meet the specific needs of their coaches and sport programs. The majority of our certified instructors are high school athletic directors who have a vested interest in their staffs. If you're interested in becoming a certified instructor (there's no cost to you) and providing a face-to-face professional development program for your coaches, contact Russell Wambles at RussellW@hkusa.com or (217) 351-5076 ext. 7653.
Coaching Principles is available in your choice of two formats: with print book or with ebook (you save $10 by purchasing the ebook version).
Coaches wanting to take a classroom course must register for the course through their instructor; we cannot take orders for classroom courses through the website. Contact the WIAA for information regarding upcoming clinics in your area.
To purchase the Coaching Principles online course, click on the corresponding icon in the table at the bottom of the page. You will be asked to create an account on the website and have an ID number assigned to you during the registration process.
Thank you for choosing Human Kinetics Coach Education as your coaching education provider!
