Human Kinetics Coach Education is pleased to work with CSU in offering Physical Education 4250, Theories and Principles of Coaching (undergraduate) and Physical Education 5255, Theories and Principles of Coaching (graduate).
The course is an introduction to principles of coaching youth and interscholastic athletes across all sports. The focus is Human Kinetics Coach Education's philosophy of "Athletes first, winning second" and how to put that approach into practice.
Three semester hours credit can be earned by completing Coaching Principles, Sport First Aid, and the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) by-laws courses online, documenting the course test scores, and completing other assignments as described in the course syllabus developed by the campus instructor, Dr. Bob Szyman.
It is recommended that students print the screen of their final test scores for documentation. A minimum of 80 percent is required in each test, Coaching Principles, Sport First Aid, and IHSA by-laws, for certification.
