Course Description
HeatWise is an online course developed by Sport Safety International and offered in partnership with Human Kinetics Coach Education. It is designed to educate coaches and others involved in sports and physical activity on the prevention and management of exertional heat illness. Coaches who successfully complete the course can print a certificate of course completion directly from the website.

This course covers the following topics:

Prevention of dehydration
Recognition of dehydration
Prevention of exertional heat illness
Recognizing exertional heat illness
Immediate treatment and management of exertional heat illness

Audience

Geared toward high school coaches, serious club coaches, college and university undergraduate students, and advanced coaches at the youth level (those who coach athletes ages 14 and older), HeatWise is designed to educate coaches and others involved in sports and physical activity on the prevention and management of exertional heat illness.
