Rutland Little League
Rutland Little League has partnered with Human Kinetics Coach Education to bring you a series of online courses to make the fulfillment of the coaching-education requirement for all Rutland team managers and coaches even more convenient.
Rutland Little League is committed to the core development of our youth baseball players as well as providing a safe and fun environment for these youngsters to partake in America’s favorite pastime. To that end, it is imperative that our managers and coaches not only be knowledgeable about baseball and the rules and policies governing our Little League and Cal Ripken programs, but also educated on the very best youth coaching philosophies and principles. We want every one of our players leaving the ball field winners - no matter what the scoreboard says. Our young players look up to you for guidance. Teaching team work, good sportsmanship, a first-rate work ethic, and a love of baseball are top priorities of Rutland Little League’s mission.
On an annual basis, Rutland Little League requires that all team managers and coaches either attend the local workshop on coaching and first aid or complete one of the following recommended courses prior to their first practice. Once you have completed a course, you may print and email your transcript record as proof of completion. Rutland Little League will also be able to access these records and check up on your progress.
Recommended courses for all managers and coaches:
- Coaching Orientation (sport neutral)
- Coaching Youth Baseball
Recommended courses for experienced managers and coaches:
- Coaching Baseball Technical and Tactical Skills
Recommended courses for Babe Ruth League managers and coaches
If who manage or coach at the Babe Ruth level and seek to manage or coach an all-star team this season, you are required to become a certified coach with Babe Ruth Baseball. As the exclusive coaching education provider to Babe Ruth League/Ripken Baseball Inc. (BRL/RBI), Human Kinetics Coach Education designed these customized online courses specifically for these programs. The courses are available through a dedicated website www.BabeRuthCoaching.org. For more information about coaching at the Babe Ruth and Big League levels, contact Vice President Tammy Griffin-Kumpey at email@example.com.
As safety is also top priority, Little League mandates that team managers participate in a first-aid clinic annually. If you missed this year’s local clinic, we will accept completion of the Sport First Aid course in its place. Anyone with a medical background (doctors, nurses, EMT workers, etc.) or anyone who holds a current certificate in first-aid or CPR is exempt from this requirement as long as you can provide the league with proof of your certification; all others are expected to comply.
Please direct questions about continuing education for coaches to Rutland Little League Coaching Coordinator Scott Gilroy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your commitment to Rutland Little League and its mission to provide our ball players with top-notch instruction and a safe, fun and memorable experience at each and every level.
President, Rutland Little League
