California Interscholastic Federation

The CIF and the California Department of Education accept and recognize CIF Coaching Orientation OR CIF Coaching Principles as meeting coaching education requirements. Coaches can take either course to meet the requirement.

The CIF by-laws course is a separate course with a separate test, but it is sold bundled with the CIF Coaching Orientation course and the CIF Coaching Principles course. It is not sold separately.

The Sport First Aid course meets the California Department of Education requirements for first aid training for coaches.

Through a generous grant from the LA84 Foundation, coaches in the Los Angeles City Section and CIF Southern Section receive $20 off the price of the CIF Coaching Orientation course. See the respective organization pages for more details.
