The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) sets high standards for all Team USA coaches, and strives to support them in fulfilling their important and challenging roles. To that end, the USOPC has refreshed its criterion of core values and best principles to guide and align collective coaching practices in the U.S. The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee Quality Coaching Framework 2020 (USOPC QCF) is an essential resource that describes, but doesn’t not prescribe, how to coach most effectively.
Spearheading the development of the USOPC QCF 2020 were lead author and world-renowned expert Dr. Wade Gilbert along with executive leadership and coach educators of the USOPC and individual NGBs. Through the USOPC QCF 2020, the USOPC hopes to see the concepts presented serve to advance coaching practice in the United States and help American athletes achieve sustained competitive excellence and well-being.
Human Kinetics Coach Education assisted with the publication of the USOPC QCF 2020, as it did in collaborations with sport and coaching organizations around the world, including the International Sport Coaching Framework (with six language translations), the European Sport Coaching Framework, and the International Golf Coaching Framework.
